The Monday Map: Map of Outer Space

This week is dedicated to food on Hejorama. We are celebrating the new issue of Fricote in which we contributed with a big article about breakfasts around the world.

But before you can actually read it, we will publish a few articles about food. For the Monday Map we have decided to go with a childhood memory with this Map of Outer Space published by MacDonald’s. It comes from Jason Liebig’s amazing photo archive where you will find thousands of memories from our past. Most of the items are related to food with hundreds of cookies boxes or bubble gums packs for instance.

The map is one of those educational merchandising items featuring Ronald Macdonald, the clown character representing the eponymous chain restaurants. It’s a visualization of the solar system with facts about the moon and planets that are in it. Click here for the full size version (14.5Mb).

International fun fact about Ronald: in Japan due to the lack of “r” sound, he’s called Donald Macdonald.
