I was doing a solo roadtrip when i decided to make a é days trip in Valparaiso. It was so nice that i stayed 5 days.
Why did you travel there ?
I grew up with seamens and pirates history. Valparaiso is a typical sailors stop on the road to north. So I wanted to see by myself this city i've heard of so many times...
How did you get there ?
I took a bus from santiago
Where did you sleep ?
I've been in a nice and quiet guesthouse labeled by "hostelling international". The name of the place was "the villa Maria Antonietta" (pablo Néruda's wife name).
What was the biggest cultural shock ?
In this town there is a typical dancing skill call "coeka". The man and the girl do the rooster and chicken dance. fun and poétic in the same time...
What was your most interesting encounter ?
a nice architect girl called Magdalenna...
Tell us a story that happened to you there
The first day i arrived, it was hot, so i decided to go swiming @ the beach... When i was in the fresh water( 15° in summertime) i saw something floating. I thought:"polution is everywhere", but after a while i saw it moving and then i understood it was not polution, but a seal hunting fishes near the beach. Nice time...
What did you do at night ?
driking, smoking, eating completos, dancing and partying...
What were your cultural activities ?
I visited "the sebastiana" the house of Pablo Neruda. realy good spot...
