Description
Located in the nice multi-cultural area of Astoria in Queens, Arepas Cafe was for me the introduction to Venezulian food. We discovered randomly the place thanks to Yelp iphone app and we couldn't be more happy to try it.
The local specialty is called arepa, which is a bread of corn filled with various things. You have about 10 differents type of Arepas on the menu. I had the one with chicken, cheese and salads, served with an assortment of sauces. It was honestly delicious. Of course this is not the most delicate meal but it did a great job for our late breakfast.
The people were very nice and the place is a clean local café. You probably won't cross all New York but if you are in Astoria and are curious of Venezulian food, Arepas Café is where you need to go !
