Description
El Celler is a small restaurant in the quiet town of Port de la Selva where I stayed for a night during my trip in Catalunya. And while it look like a regular typical place, the food is actually delicious and very sophisticated. If you like raw fish, just try the swordfish carpaccio or even the tuna and you'll thank me for sharing the address of El Celler!
I would also recommend getting the home prepared Foie Grasthat I found delicious and since I'm French I believe that I know excellent Foie Gras when I try it.
But the true house specialty is the Arroz Negro, a large dish of black rice with squid in it and served with aioli, traditional sauce made of garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and egg yolks. Now I have to admit that I haven't appreciated it as much as the rest but it was nice to try some local traditional meal.
The owner and the cook were really nice and since we were the only one in the restaurant it really felt like home.
