The place to see the samba parade during the Rio Carnival.
For a good seat, the ticket are very expensive, about 800 reais (350€/460$). But a few days before the show, some men sell cheaper tickets around the Sambadrome. You only have to negociate a little bit and check if they are not false tickets and… You can have the best seats for 80 reais !
It starts at 20:00, and lasts all night long, and itʼs more a big and spectacular show than a real festive moment. There are a lot of tourists and rich people in the audience (they can buy the tickets), the ambiance isnʼt so fun and nobody is wearing costumes. I think it can be exciting if we have family or friends in the samba schools that parade, but if not… The street parties are better.
