RoadTrip in Sweden, Episode 2/10 August, september 2007, with one fellow, Cedric / Itinerary / previous episode / next episode /
Summary Lund is one of the city we prefered during the trip. I regret I didn't take enough pictures. It's the student town close to Malmö, There is nothing particular to visit, but it's juste nice to be there. It's the kind of town I would have loved to study ! Ok the swedishgirls are so nice, but there also an atmosphere that was very pleasant.Everybody seemed to know each other. The downtown is little but you have many shops, libraries, bar, restaurants, etc... As any great student town, you have so nice parties, much fun. So nothing particular to visit, but nice place I guess to study or stay few days to walk around and/or party. -
Day two - Thursday, august 23th
We arrived in Sweden by the giantic bridge between Copenhagen and Malmö, Öresund bridge . It was very impressive. We planned to be in Malmö for The week end, butwe wanted to be at least one day in Lund, to see what it looks like. We arrived at 17 pm, and go straight to the youth hotel, before it closed. It's a nice concept, rooms in an old train. the Train hotel . As there were no place left, we have to use the joker camping card !they let us exceptionnaly put the tent in the garden of the stf.
Then we went to the city, taking money and make our little investigation to know where to go out this night. No need to loose time,we were here to party !!! We met a lovely couple of swedish girsl who initiated us to the art of the Nations. In Sweden, each student town has several fraternities organized by geographic origin. So when students arrive in Town to study, they enter the frat from the city they come from. So you can find Malmö nation, Lunds nation, Östgöta Nation, Goteborg Nation, etc... (clik here to know more)
So, our new georgeous friends (we never see again) told us about the party to be this night, at Lunds Nation. So we went back to the HQ, to have a good shower and get ready for the night. We were at french time, so we took our time... big mistake, ... when we went out for dinner at 22 PM, after a little aperitif at the hotel, it was too late to eat. All resaturants were closing. Be careful with time, it 's like this every where in Sweden. So, we took the burger king option, and get to the party.
This was on the roof of the building. So we joined the queue on 3rd floor, where the party had already begun. We began to get ambianced, when we saw at the finish line, the security squad, that was asking ID and student cards.... well well well... we are not students anymore, what's the plan ! We made a horrible thing, but it worst it. We told a nice fairy tale to the 7 feet tall guy at the entrance. "We're french and we're making a guide for students going to foreign countires for their studies....and we're touring sweden" ... we closed our eyes and pray the pagan party god... "ok, great! have a nice time" . On the road again! So, here we are, in our first swedish party of the holidays. Cheap alcohol, average music, and a few new friends. And a girl hit me !! with her bag! because I nicely said no to her, wit my gentleman french accent !!! She was so pissed off. Don't mess with swedish chicks! The party ended, and we rounded the town, desperately looking for an after party. Nothing wanted us... we just made a new belgian friend that said to us "Y'a pas d'after party mais si tu veux tu peux manger un Kebab" (there is no after party, but I u want you can eat a Kebab) ... ok, thanks dude.
We gave up and went back get some rest in our train HQ.
We left Lund the day after, off to Malmö for the week end
