Last flight for Leslie Nielsen
Legendary comic actor Leslie Nielsen dies at the age of 84.
- Soundtrack of the report
Three days ago, the Canadian/American actor Leslie Nielsen passed way. He was a fantastic comedian and surely one of the funniest guy ever. We were big fans as kids so we had to pay our respects with a little article. I mean how could we not love an actor who went on the Forbidden Planet for his first role ? And honestly, I can’t think of a time I boarded a plane without wondering if Ted Striker and the Dr Rumack were in the cockpit.
Rest in Peace, Mr Nielsen. The travel community will never forget you…
Rumack: Can you fly this plane, and land it?
Ted Striker: Surely you can’t be serious.
Rumack: I am serious… and don’t call me Shirley.
Rumack: You’d better tell the Captain we’ve got to land as soon as we can. This woman has to be gotten to a hospital.
Elaine Dickinson: A hospital? What is it?
Rumack: It’s a big building with patients, but that’s not important right now.
Rumack: The life of everyone on board depends upon just one thing: finding someone back there who can not only fly this plane, but who didn’t have fish for dinner.
Frank: It’s a topsy-turvy world, and maybe the problems of two people don’t amount to a hill of beans. But this is our hill. And these are our beans!
Frank: It’s true what they say: Cops and women don’t mix. It’s like eating a spoonful of Drano; sure, it’ll clean you out, but it’ll leave you hollow inside.
Frank: Oh, it’s all right. I’m sure that we can handle this situation maturely, just like the responsible adults that we are. Isn’t that right, Mr… Poopy Pants?
Doing nothing is very hard to do . . . you never know when you’re finished.
