Big Art Mob
Everyone likes street art when they travel abroad. That’s the easiest and most immediate form of art you will meet in any city you explore. You don’t have to look for it, it will simply come to you as you wander in the streets.
Getting lost in a foreign city is one of our favorite activities and on numerous occasions lit ead us to discover some fantastic creations. But if you want to prepare your trip a bit more, we highly recommend that you take a look at Big Art Mob to scout for interesting street art around the world.
Big Art Mob is a community based project created for the ambitious goal of “mapping all of the world’s public art”. This database is available via the main website and soon through an iPhone app. It’s still in beta phase and the database is slowing filling up but there’s already some really interesting art on it. A great project that we hope will expand quickly!
More details about the project in this fun and interesting presentation.

This is a nice initiative, but for me this is not going to be really possible.
what they called Public Art is not sustainable. As it is public and often not legal, people, states are taking them off and what is there one day won’t be here the day after.
Making the inventory of such kind of work is impossible to have always up to date.
One of the famous street artist called Space Invader just came in Bruxelles and sprayed his mosaic all over the city. I’ve nice pix of some of them, but alreay some are gone. And mosaics are much more sustainable than stickers or prints.
Street art is always one of my travel goal, I wan’t to see graffiti in all cities I’m going to, but I want to discover them by my own or with people from the city, i will never go to a website to look at them.
Sorry for the long post, as you can see i like street art :)
Hi Seb! I agree with you, that’s some very interesting remarks. Maybe a better way to see this project is a way to archive this temporary street art then. And maybe they could specify if the artwork is still visible or not for instance. To avoid people going to see something and not finding it because it was actually erased or cleaned…
Good point
Street Art & Graffiti are going super quick. I remember a website which was representing a Los Angels wall days after days since years it was incredible!
